Dr. Kass has been utilizing hypnosis as a treatment option in his practice for the past 13 years. He began his training in 2006 under the tutelage of the esteemed Pediatric Pulmonologist and Hypnotherapist, Dr. Ran Anbar. The initial desire to learn hypnosis was to treat vocal cord dysfunction, as this is the most effective treatment known. Dr. Kass also began seeing success utilizing hypnosis for habit cough and other respiratory conditions. He then began expanding his experience by training at The National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute (NPHTI) for the next four years. At NPHTI, Dr. Kass trained with founders and leaders in the field of pediatric hypnosis, including Drs. Dan Kohen, Leora Kuttner and Pam Kaiser.
In 2014 The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), the only nationally recognized certifying organization, awarded Dr. Kass the position of Approved Consultant. He is 1 of only 12 pediatricians in the United States to reach this certification, and 1 of only 35 MDs. As Dr. Kass' patient population and patient treatment needs have expanded, so has his training. In 2016, Dr. Kass was invited to participate in a 100-hour intensive hypnosis workshop under the guidance of the renowned psychologist, Dr. Michael Yapko. This workshop focused on psychosocial issues in adults (anxiety, depression, pain and habits), thus expanding his skills set even further.
Dr. Kass is committed to seeking out new training experiences even as he is now being offered positions to teach. But, it is his work with his patients that brings him his greatest fulfillment.
